You know what I have always found bizarre? How much time people will spend at work planning, forecasting, testing and analyzing for the future ahead (I know cause I have been there) but how little time these very same people will spend planning their own life – other than of course the next holiday or take-out.

Now I don’t know anyone who gets up in the morning and thinks: ‘Mmmm, I wonder how I can screw up my life today?’

We all start each and every day hoping that things will get better for us.

And that’s just the problem – we HOPE…. and do very little else!

logo_clrThe Sphere of Life Coaching Module is a powerful exercise I first came across while training at the Life Coaching Academy in the UK and have since adapted to suit me personally.

It is a coaching module that will assist you in figuring out what you really want from your life (and you may be surprised just what you find out) and how to go about taking the action steps necessary to get the results you desire.

Through this exercise you’re going to learn:

  • What’s really important to you – in your own life?
  • Where your life is right now
  • What action steps you need to take to improve every area of your life
  • How to commit to taking these action steps
  • How to build on what you have learnt and ’stay the course’

I know you can design the life you truly want and I know you can have what you want in every area of your life.

Now, it’s not going to happen over night and it will take work on your part but I am sure this won’t be a problem for you – it is your life after all!

So let’s get started…..

Hopefully you’ve got a quiet spot somewhere so you can spend the next few minutes working on this without any interruptions.

Grab a piece of paper and something to write with.

All you need to do today is the following:

  1. Write down your life wish listwsh_lst

Now this isn’t really a goal list as such. It’s a list of all the things you desire in your life; who you want to become, the places you want to see, successes you want to achieve, the things you want to get….etc etc

There is no right or wrong here and here are some guidelines to assist you:

  • Write from the heart and make each item as detailed as possible
  • Write in your own voice – write like you’re talking to a close friend
  • Keep adding to this the entire day – when you wake up in the morning, add more

You should, by the end of this, have a few sheets of paper with a massive list of all the things you wish for your life.

Keep this list with you we’ll be using it in the next exercise. On that note and depending of how much time you have at your disposal now, my suggestion would be that you bookmark this page and only return to the next exercise in a day. This will allow you to get more items on your wish list but more importantly that you don’t end up rushing this. If you have the time now then by all means continue.
