The Morning After the Xmas Before – Need Stress Relief?

by Emil Raal on December 26, 2009

Ever wondered why you need to try and relax and not get so stressed out? In Markian Hawryluk’s article for bendbulletin{dot}com (the Central Oregon online news service) and in keeping with the theme of the holidays wrote an informative piece about what stress actually does to the body. What’s frightening to note is the effect stress seems to have on the entire body, both internally and externally.

Despite the things we have come to learn about stress and the nasty symptoms it causes like sleep disorders, muscle and stomach tension and the possible link to depression what is quite interesting to note from what is written is how the immune system, liver function and even the reproductive system can be negatively affected.

You can read more about these and other symptoms to the body by clicking on the link below.

‘Tis the season to be stressed
3 • Stress hormones can disrupt normal functioning of the reproductive system, affecting testosterone and sperm production in men, and interfering with normal menstrual cycles in women. Stress can exacerbate pre-menstrual and menopausal symptoms.

Although there is no supporting links to actual clinical references, I guess it is not too far a stretch to think that stress can have such a dangerous effect on the body as a whole.

As we go through the holidays and tension is known to spark up so easily, it’s important to firstly realize that you could be doing some real harm to your body by getting so wound up and secondly we think it’s useful to arm yourself with some stress relief tips. In this way you can enjoy the festivities in a relaxed and stress-free way.

Happy holidays!
